The capital of Scandinavia- Stockholm, Sweden

We had to take an early train from Copenhagen to Stockholm and we walked almost 2 miles at 4am to get to the train station. I turned to Adam all grouchy and said "it's not everyday you walk 2 miles at 4am". We got on our train and got some coffee as we watched the sunrise. I turned to Adam smiling and said "it's not every day that you get to watch the sunrise over the Swedish countryside". It was so peaceful and beautiful! Stockholm is a great city and has something for everyone. It is made up of 14 islands connected by 57 bridges. 1/3 of the city is water ways, 1/3 is parks and 1/3 is buildings. Every person in Stockholm was dressed well, fit, and tan. It's another very outdoorsy community. It is so clean with such crisp air.  The only gripe I have is that they charge 10 kroner to use the bathroom! Yes, even in restraunts when you are a paying customer and in the few public bathrooms that there are. Absurd!!! Come on now Sweden you are too advanced of a country to be so cheap. Our couchsurfing host, Anita was so sweet. She had a great apartment very close to the city. We enjoyed cooking Swedish meatballs and having Swedish beers and wine. She gave us a great tour of the city. We saw the changing of the guard ceremony at the Royal Palace. We went through the really narrow alley in Gamla Stan, the old town. We saw the colored buildings and the City hall. My maiden name, Olson, is Swedish so it was great to see some of my heritage as well.
